Heroes of the Storm, Spring Global Championship was supposed to be the tie breaker for the top teams. It was meant to figure out which HotS team is better among the ones at the top of the ladder. Although the tournament ended up letting the world know what’s what, the end result seemed less surprising. MVP Black quite literally aced the entire championship and took it all home.
Before the commencement of this tournament, MVP Black carried the status of being one of the best HotS teams on a global scale. In fact, it’s pretty safe to say they were the best in the game. The squad dominated the tournament without conceding a single game. They were able to turn around and send back every regionally best team in the world.
After beating Team Naventic and another Korea based squad, Team No Limit, MVP Black were able to make it to the top of their group. The Korean team faced their toughest challenge in the semifinals against the Chinese superstar team eStar Gaming.
Well, maybe not so tough. MVP Black made a joke out of eStar Gaming and moved on the devastate the finals against Edward Gaming. Literally nothing was able to stand in their rampaging way. The squad claimed the world best title and $150,000 in prize money.
MVP already had a couple of global titles under their belt. They held championship positions in the World Cyber Arena and Masters Gaming Arena. It’s not exactly surprising they dominated the Spring Global Championships.
