BOT World Championship is Back

Not entirely sure whether this tournament that kicked off in 2015, is considered part of the eSports industry, but it is definitely a lot of fun to witness. The BOT World Championship is coming back in 2016 and it is bigger than ever before.

In case you don’t know what this tournament is, it is literally what the name suggests. Teams from all over the world, comprising of nothing but bots, compete against one another for a cash prize. The bots are obviously designed by a team of humans and then brought on to a platform to fight in their ever ridiculous ways.

99Damage recently announced the return of its BOT tournament and brought it a much larger platform than before. In 2015, teams went head to head for $250,000 in prize money for the winner. This time, 99Damage has taken things to a whole new level with a whopping $1,337,000 in-game currency on the line.

As dumb as we might think bots are, the silly chunks of code have a tournament to their name and a huge sum of money to go with it.

The tournament will begin on the 9th of April 2016. The format is set quite simple for the feeble BOT minds. It will be a single elimination, best of one system. However, the grand final will be best of three.

All of the games will take place on the 9th of April with the first semifinal at 16:00 CET, second at 17:00 CET, and grand final at 18:00 CET.
